What is the weather like in Spain?
Spain’s climate is of Mediterranean temperate making it one of the warmest countries in Europe. With dry summers, and constant temperatures during the winter months Spain enjoys on average more than three thousand hours of sunshine per year.
There is little rainfall during the summer months with daily temperatures reaching 35C. 15C is an average low temperature at night.
The winters are generally mild and you can anticipate both sunny and overcast days however the temperature will still be quite warm. In the day temperatures achieve about 20C with the evenings reaching lows of approx.10C. Snow really only appears on the higher mountain ranges however a slight ground frost may be experienced during the winter months in the Northern parts. Fog, black ice, mist are words that are not used in the Eastern and Southern vocabulary !
In October and November cold air from the north of Europe meets the warm air from the Mediterranean. This results in rain lasting only one week but can be heavy.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that the Costa Blanca has one of the best climates in the world.
